MGH The Green Carpet Gala

Hey everyone I had one amazing week, 2 fashion shows back-to-back. The first fashion show was hosted by (Michael's Giving H.A.N.D. foundation), all the proceeds will benefit MGH educational outreach & adolescent mental health counseling programs. The second Fashion show was at Moore college at the Barne foundation building, this show was a senior fashion show however we will talk more about that in another blog. So today we will be focusing on MGH the green carpet gala at the Lucy.

Attending this fashion show I got a chance to hear a powerful story of how the foundation was founded, Michael Donatucci lost the battle with depression on July 15,2016. This was the prime of his life academically and professionally, Michael had suffered with depression along with anxiety sense he was a kid which poured over into his adult life. He had received professional help with his depression, the only people that knew about his struggles were his immediate family and close friends. Thus, with the family's grief they set out with the support of their friendship and community bonds to form the Michael P. Donatucci Foundation. This foundation promotes awareness of anxiety and depression in teens, the family is very committed to their cause. I never experienced these types of feelings but I knew others who suffered from these issues. In my opinion we need more foundations like this to prevent such tragic deaths like this our youths, there will be a link below to their website for you to reach this foundation.

This event was very upscale, I was over taken with everything this night had going on. I also got a chance to reconnect with a subject who was a cheerleader for the 76sixers, it was great seeing her again along with learning she has a family of her own now. I came so far with my work, seeing people that I created a body of work with blows my mind at where my career started from. As the night went on more people came in with a lot of interesting career fields, the one that stock out to me the most was this beautiful young woman who just got her degree in the sciences. Most of her work she does goes into analyzing genetic samples, a lot of things that I didn’t know about. The thing that stuck out to me was the lack of interest she had in her work along with not feeling fulfilled which was sad to me. When I'm not able to do my passion it makes me feel down, because my work brings me great joy and fulfillment so just imagining getting no meaning out of work I create would make me go crazy.

The second main event of the night was the fashion show brought to us by (runway the real way) an event production entity with an inclusive theme for all types of sizes, shapes, ages, genders and ethnicities. I met the head of that production company Catherine Schuller; she is a remarkable woman because I wouldn’t be able to handle organizing models, makeup artist, hairstylist, producers, and more. The design’s that stuck out to me were DK design fashion, his color choices are just amazing as seen in the photo above. They have the look of Indian culture and Chinese culture mixed into one to me, I always had a thing with colors like these. I hope one day that the chance of me working with a designer like this will come around again someday.

Well with all that being said I hope everyone enjoyed the read for today, don’t forget to share this blog and if you’re not signed up yet for my newsletter don’t forget to!
